As I said on the Home page Trev is brewmating. Some of you may wonder what brewmating is, this is where the temperature in a country is too hot for the tortoise to fully hibernate. So to counter this the tortoise has a sort of secondary system that is brewmating. This means that the tortoise can move around and (unlikly but possible) wake up then fall asleep again.
During the days in the smmer Trev doesn't really do much, just lazes around. Sits in the sun and heats herself up in the warmth. when she is finished she goes running around (through common misinterpration people think tortoises always move slow. This is not true, they can move fast when they can be bothered to.) looking for food.
At the beginning of Trev's life she needed a lot of care and tenderness. She needed to be feed regularly and for the first 6-8 months she was on her vavarium, which is basically a heated box. Nowadays she doesn't need all that much care just in the summer we make a little box for her to sleep in and food for her to eat.
Here's a pic of her last summer. She was trying to climb some guttering to that she could get in the house, it looked like she was hurting herself so I moved her to her house and she slept there for the rest of the day. lol lazy bugger.
